Stephens College offers the excitement of a big college town and the benefits of a tight-knit community. We’re metropolitan and personal. At Stephens, you’ll find exciting new experiences and an excellent education in a place where you feel comfortable and safe.
We’re an internationally ranked private women’s college right next door to a large, bustling public university. And we’re not just neighbors. Stephens and the University of Missouri have an agreement that allows students to share classes and facilities. You’ll get the security and support of a small, all-women campus, plus the benefits of a Research I university that draws international scholars and students from all over the world.
What else sets us apart? Stephens College is the second-oldest women’s college in the country, with a reputation for student-centered learning and a diverse, inclusive community that truly cares about making students feel at home. Our programs prepare students for leadership and real-world application from day one and are designed to match individual students’ strengths and interests.
When you become a Stephens woman, you’ll join a community that embraces you. With students from all across the country, we are more diverse than many Midwestern colleges and universities. We also benefit from a large international population in the city of Columbia and at the University of Missouri.
Students love Stephens because we know your name and know you—your strengths, your hopes and dreams, your passions and goals. Parents love Stephens because we’re kind, welcoming, supportive, and honest—plus, our graduates are successful. Our faculty design their courses to help students explore bold ideas, take risks, and put their knowledge to use. The research, hands-on assignments, and internships our students complete during their studies help them land their dream jobs when they graduate.
