With numerous top 10 rankings, an internationally recognized reputation, and 93% of its students employed within one year of graduation, it’s no wonder three out of four enrolled students say Pratt was their first-choice college.

Founded in 1887, Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, is recognized internationally as one of the top five art, design, and architecture schools inthe world. Over 25 majors and concentrations, a faculty of practicing professionals, and a beautiful, tree-lined 25-acre residential campus that is a short car or subway ride away from Manhattan make Pratt a top choice for gifted, bright students looking for a residential art school experience in a campus community.

Ideal locations
Located in Brooklyn, New York, Pratt provides easy access to Manhattan’s galleries, museums, plays, restaurants, and social life as well as a quiet space to come back to.

Students rank the campus as one of the top three reasons they chose Pratt. Often referred to by our students and alumni as an “oasis,” the Brooklyn campus offers students over 25 enclosed acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, historic and contemporary buildings, outstanding studio facilities, five residence halls, and an athletics center.

The Manhattan campus on W. 14thStreet houses Pratt’s two-year associate programs and both the four-year and two-year Construction Management programs.

PrattMWP College of Art and Design is Pratt’s Upstate New York extensionsite in Utica, offering the first two years of several of Pratt’s undergraduate programs. It features an intimate and nurturing environment, ideal for students looking to start their degrees in a smaller city setting before relocating to Pratt’s Brooklyn campus.

Highly ranked majors
Choose from a broad selection ofcreative disciplines. To round out your education in your major, you can choose a minor in another discipline or in the liberal arts, take electives in other areas, or choose our interdisciplinary minor, which allows you to build your own.

Students get to explore all their artistic interests, making their work interesting and compelling and making themselves more employable. Art schools start with studio work in the first semester, while you wouldn’t even choose a major at a university until your junior year.

Strong industry connections
Pratt’s 1,100 faculty members are successful practicing professionals who ensure the currency of the curriculum and connect students with internships and often jobs. The network of jobs for graduates stretches across the country and around the world, reflecting Pratt’s vast alumni base of over 30,000 graduates.

The Career Services Office provides students with online and in-person assistance with portfolios, résumés, interview skills, and the job search, listing hundreds of jobs online for the convenience of students and alumni.

An affordable education
Pratt provides a comprehensive financial aid program to help make Pratt affordable, and 76% of Pratt students qualify for some form of financial aid. All students are considered for generous scholarships upon acceptance.
