Western Illinois University provides a place for success to anyone who dreams of getting a quality education.

We offer student-centered undergraduate and graduate programs that are defined by innovative teaching, research, and service. Become a future leader at WIU by getting involved in more than 200 student organizations, or create your own!

With a mission to deliver a high-quality education to our students, WIU maintains small class sizes and collaborative learning environments. We offer two campuses where students can explore their educational goals. Macomb, Illinois, is home to our residential campus, located in a safe and welcoming college town. Moline, Illinois (part of the Quad Cities region), is home to our non-residential campus in a dynamic metropolitan area, where students can gain hands-on experience from industry leaders like Caterpillar and John Deere. Regardless of the campus you choose, classes are available in person, online, and in hybrid formats.

WIU’s academic programming is second to none:
• The School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration has an internationally known Criminal Justice/Public Safety program.

• Agriculture students get hands-on experience with over 300 acres of University farmland, livestock, and state-of-the-art greenhouses.

• Accounting students have earned the highest CPA exam pass rates among public universities in Illinois and have a 94% employment rate within three months of graduation.

• The Broadcasting program enables students to produce programming for ESPN in state-of-the-art, high-definition television facilities.

Western strives to continually improve services for our students, and we currently have the second-highest returning number of transfer students in WIU history. We’re also proud to say that 90% of our graduates are employed or continuing their education within one year of graduation. WIU creates a dynamic environment that empowers students to craft their own paths to success. You’ll leave not only with a degree but with the confidence to chase your dreams.
