Undergrad Diversity

At Augustana College, we seek diversity of all kinds, aiming for the change our world needs.

To prepare you for the world that needs you, Augustana will invest in you—from your first day on campus until graduation, and beyond.

These are some of the ways Augustana will change your life:

Campus community
Augustana students are active thinkers and thoughtful doers, and the campus community cares deeply about their goals. No matter how ambitious your goals, you can achieve them here—beginning with help from your first-year advisor, to a favorite professor advising you in each major and minor, to career coaches in CORE.

The PACE Multicultural Mentorship Program
Designed for first-year students of color, PACE (Preparation, Awareness, Community and Engagement) begins with an orientation: students can meet friends and mentors, get involved, and be introduced to resources focused on helping them reach their goals for college and beyond.

Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Augustana College has been nationally recognized for an outstanding commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Campus resources include the Offices of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Student Inclusion and Diversity; International Student and Scholar Services, and more.

Student groups
You can build leadership skills through student organizations and community events. Augustana’s more than 150 student groups include the Black Student Union, Latinx Unidos, Student Government Association, and so many more.

We invest in your future
You will receive funding for the goals that matter most to you. $2,000 from Augie Choice will support your career-building internship, research project or study abroad experience. The new Presidential Racial Justice and Equity Fund awards grants to students for projects that promote equity and justice on campus and in our Quad Cities community. These are just two examples of the many ways the college invests in your future.

An Inside Look

What students are saying about us...

  • "From the moment I stepped onto campus, Augie felt like home. I was truly blessed to be surrounded by not just great friends and teammates, but awesome peers and faculty. I thought this was a coincidence, but then I realized that these are the type of people Augie brings together—people who are competitive and working hard to be the best, but still friendly and willing to lend a hand when you need it."

    • Pierson Wofford
      Springfield, Illinois
  • "Aside from playing in the D3 National Championship my freshman year, a peak experience was creating the Filipino Student Organization on campus with my good friends…. Although it was just created this year, it was incredibly fulfilling knowing that I could have a strong impact on students' future experience by helping increase diversity on campus through this club."

    • Lucas Simon
      Chicago, Illinois
  • "I was able to discover myself at Augustana. The Augustana community is so friendly and open. I was able to meet many lifelong friends here. There is so much to discover about you and your future at Augustana!"

    • Kristen Higginbothan
