A supportive environment 
James Cook University strives to create an educational environment where students are supported to take full advantage of their university experience. The dedicated International Student Support team provide a range of services, from social activities, referrals, and arrival services to academic and personal support.  

With more than 60 clubs and student societies, JCU offers plenty of opportunities to make friends, stay active, and have fun on campus. Clubs and societies range from the JCU International Student Association to various sporting and special-interest clubs, including the Dive Club, Townsville Ultimate Disc, Rugby Union, and Water Polo Clubs. 
 
Student accommodation 
For those who want to experience campus life to its fullest, there are extensive on-campus accommodation options, with and without meal plans included. While there may be some shared facilities, all rooms are single occupancy. Private rental options, such as share housing with easy access to campus, are affordable and readily available in both cities. 
 
Finances 
James Cook University is registered as a provider to certify and administer US Federal Aid loan applications for new and continuing students. The school code is G12206. JCU also has scholarships available for high-achieving students.
