Empowering Girls and Women for 250 Years

Founded in 1772, Salem College is the oldest educational institution for girls and women in the United States. Salem is one of our nation’s most distinguished private liberal arts colleges centered on a core belief and legacy that educated, empowered women can truly change the world.

Salem launched an exciting new Health Leadership focus for fall 2021. We have added four health-oriented majors including Health Sciences, Health Humanities, Health Advocacy and Humanitarian Systems, and Health Communication and Data Visualization.

Students will still be able to take courses and major in disciplines within the traditional liberal arts curriculum but will also have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be at the forefront of something new, transformative, purpose-driven, and future-oriented.

Salem College is small with intention. At Salem, students are not lost in the crowd of busy lecture halls. Salem customizes each student’s experience, directly supporting their needs whether they already know where their path lies, or they are still exploring to find their passion. Discover your path at Salem!
