Every Charleston Southern degree is grounded in the liberal arts, including studies in critical reading and writing, literature, history, mathematics and science, as well as Christian studies, empowering students to succeed. Whatever degree you choose, you will complete experiential learning requirements which include enriched educational opportunities via internships, practicums, clinicals, field courses, travel courses, and other real-world application of classroom theory.
Engineering
The Science and Engineering building is the newest on campus and houses CSU’s growing engineering program with emphases in electrical, computer, and mechanical engineering.
Aeronautics
CSU offers South Carolina’s only collegiate aeronautic program, where students can earn both a bachelor’s degree and pilot certification. The program is one of only three FAA-approved schools in the state. Students also have the option of pairing an aeronautics’ degree with CSU’s award-winning Air Force ROTC program.
Nursing and Health Sciences
Respected programs in healthcare include a bachelor of science in nursing and programs in public health and kinesiology. Kinesiology majors may choose the 3+2 program to earn bachelor of science and master of athletic degrees.
Computer Science and Cybersecurity
CSU’s bachelor of science in computer science and bachelor of science in cybersecurity are accredited by the prestigious Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology. Numerous IT companies in the region offer options for internships and jobs after graduation.
Lab Sciences
Traditional degrees are available in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, and medical laboratory technology. Emphases in biology include preprofessional and wildlife. Wildlife students often intern with the Animal Forest at Charles Towne Landing.
