Whitworth means business

The Whitworth School of Business, with AACSB International accreditation earned by only 6% of business programs worldwide, includes undergraduate programs in accounting, business management, economics, marketing and finance. It also offers the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Business Leadership (MBL) graduate programs, graduate certificate programs, certification preparation courses and the Whitworth Institute of Leadership. Coursework emphasizes ethics, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication in business and management, along with a significant innovation component based on practical application experiences.  

Consistently one of Whitworth's largest academic areas, the School of Business boasts faculty members who combine strong academic credentials with extensive practical experience and a focus on the increasing globalization of markets. In keeping with Whitworth's mission, the department's faculty and curriculum reflect a strong emphasis on values and ethics within a rigorous academic program. The department also maintains close connections with business and professional communities in the US and abroad to provide a variety of internship, mentoring and service-learning opportunities to help students prepare for meaningful and successful careers.

Whitworth students also gain valuable experience outside of class:
• The Student Investment Group manages $150,000 of the university’s endowment.
• Whitworth’s team has won the regional Chartered Financial Analyst Institute Research Challenge for six consecutive years.
• Our business students compete for venture capital against students at other colleges in the region in the annual Business Plan Competition.
• Study abroad opportunities are available in Central America, China, Australia, and other international locations.
• Students participate in Business Trek events to network with Whitworth alumni at Amazon, Boeing, Microsoft, Nordstrom, Starbucks, Zillow, and other regional firms.
