Applied Learning is the key to the UIndy School of Business.
From managing a portfolio of real money in the UIndy Student Fund to working directly with clients on project management, UIndy students “learn by doing.” Both undergraduate and graduate courses are taught by dedicated faculty, many of whom have many years of real-world experience they bring to the classroom. In addition to the classroom, students gain valuable internship experiences at nearly 100 different businesses each year and are well-prepared to enter the job market or advance in their careers upon graduation.
School of Business faculty
At UIndy, many of our faculty boast decades of experience-not just in teaching, but in working in their respective fields. On average, our faculty have 12 years of experience in the private sector prior to teaching. The wealth of real-world experience they bring to the classroom helps them develop course material and projects that will prepare you for your career after graduation. Our professors are skilled teachers too. In recent years, many School of Business faculty have received or been finalists for UIndy's Teacher of the Year award.
Internship opportunities
An internship gives you the opportunity to take what you learn in class and put it into practice by working in a business or other organization. Students often get an internship during the summer break, or for one or two semesters during the school year. The School of Business offers credit for approved internships.
Internships help you gain valuable career-related experience and build your professional network. They also may lead to full-time job opportunities after graduation. In addition, internships can give you the opportunity to see what it's like to work in various industries, which can give you a better idea of the type of work you enjoy and the career options you'd like to pursue.
