Your new hometown
Albany is a small city with a big heart. There’s a reason it’s ranked a top city for young professionals. There are walkable neighborhoods, excellent dining (many restaurants owned and run by Saint Rose alumni), clubs, shopping, libraries, malls, museums and galleries, places of worship, performance spaces for music and theater, and sports arenas.
We’re situated at the seat of the state government in one of the most influential states in the country and home to federal agencies like the FBI, Social Security Administration, and Veterans’ Administration. We’re a major health care hub, with access to powerful research and teaching facilities in medicine and social services. We have some of the strongest school districts you’ll find anywhere, thanks in part to our century-long tradition of graduating great teachers at Saint Rose.
Home of real-world experience
Whether they’re studying Music Industry, Computer Science, or anything in between, our students land internships with some of the most successful businesses and organizations in their field, such as IBM, Target Inc., St. Martin’s Press, Atlantic Records, the New York State Assembly, and Albany Medical Center. Education majors are required to teach in real classrooms or work one-on-one with clients at our on-site speech-pathology clinic. Undergraduate research opportunities are available to all students.
Our Cold Case Analysis Center allows select students to work on real cold cases, assisting local law enforcement and criminal justice agencies. Music students can kick it old school with one of our record cutting and analog recording stations, funded by the Les Paul Foundation. Volunteerism is ingrained in our College’s culture, creating opportunities to participate in mission trips to New Orleans, Louisiana, or Antigua, Guatemala, and at community organizations.
Home of global connections
Saint Rose is home to students from more than 50 countries. Study abroad opportunities are available for adventure seekers. From Scotland to South Africa, India to Ireland, Poland to Peru, and Chile to China, students can study a wide range of disciplines in 35 countries.
Home of spirit and pride
At Saint Rose, you’re part of the Golden Knights family whether you’re on the field or court or cheering from the sidelines. We have 19 NCAA Division II teams that are filled with talented athletes from all over the globe who make us proud.
