UConn graduates work all over the world in various organizations and myriad business
functions. They work in the largest multi-national companies and in the smallest entrepreneurial ventures. In fact, UConn’s alumni network—222,500+ strong—is an important resource for students in the career development and planning process.
Another critical resource in the process is UConn’s Graduate Career Development Office. The CDO will be your guide throughout your
time at UConn—from the moment you begin your studies all the way through graduation and beyond. You will learn successful job search strategies and career development skills, and our dedicated career coaches will provide individualized attention and a range of resources to help you create and launch a job search plan tailored to your career goals.

Founded in 1881, the University of Connecticut is ranked as one of the best public universities in the United States. With a combination of dynamic faculty, intense experiential learning opportunities, and an extraordinary sense of community, UConn is a university like no other.

As Connecticut’s flagship university, UConn offers students access to rich campus programs and experiences that provide the foundation for lifelong learning opportunities; a portfolio of graduate and professional education, research, and scholarship—creating knowledge and innovation that fundamentally improves learning and the way people live; and a broad range of opportunities and resources to potentially solve some of the most pressing business issues for the nation and beyond.

Investing in the future
Over the past 20 years, while many states have significantly reduced support for public institutions, UConn has completed a $2.8 billion infrastructure investment program—the most extensive of any public university in the United States. In early 2013, UConn launched Next Generation Connecticut (NextGenCT), a $1.5 billion investment by the state of Connecticut, to primarily support expansion in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Some of the highlights of this 10-year plan include hiring faculty and building new, cutting-edge facilities and laboratories. NextGenCT will bring opportunities for research and innovation—particularly in the STEM fields—to help build the nation’s future workforce.

Academic portfolio
UConn offers a comprehensive portfolio of postgraduate Business programs, including Connecticut’s largest and oldest MBA program, as well as specialized master’s degrees in Accounting, Human Resource Management, Financial Risk Management, and Business Analytics and Project Management. Additionally, UConn offers dual-degree programs, many advanced graduate Business certificates, and other non-degree options.

Research and learning
As a public research university, UConn is a hub for breakthrough exploration and scholarship. Faculty members are top experts in their fields and serve as mentors and advisors to students. Distinctive experiential learning opportunities bring together talented graduate students, top business faculty, and front-line industry executives to investigate and develop solutions to real-world, real-time, complex challenges facing business today. Taken collectively, this combination of research, teaching, and learning translates to a robust graduate experience for students. It’s like being on the ground floor of tomorrow’s insights and innovations, learning from and working with the experts who are discovering them.
