I'm a financially independent student; how will this affect my financial aid?

Having your own apartment and/or car does not necessarily make you financially independent for financial aid purposes. Unless you are married, have children, served in the military, or a host of other things (such as being homeless or a foster youth) you might still be considered as dependent on your parents for financial aid purposes. If in doubt, check with the college that you want to attend. They will give you direction as to what your status would be.
