Bates Dance Festival Young Dancers Workshop

Serving serious dance students with a minimum of three years of current and continuous dance training in modern technique and at least one year of ballet, the Young Dancers Workshop provides highly structured and closely supervised instruction. Students take 90-minute morning classes in modern dance and ballet, then select two 75-minute courses from the following options—jazz, hip-hop, African or repertory—during the afternoon session. In addition, boys and girls develop material in their classes for a final performance. Placement classes determine the appropriate level of study for each dancer.
