These year-round programs, which range in duration from one to 12 weeks, combine volunteer work, cultural and learning activities, and leisure-time pursuits. Insight Abroad involves project-based work that can be completed in one week. The most popular program, Volunteer Abroad, offers the greatest flexibility of locations and start dates, allowing participants to tailor their program to their skills and interests. A third program, Intern Abroad, serves students interested in earning academic credit, securing international work experience or conducting field research. Specially designed for teenagers, Teen Volunteer Abroad (ages 15-17) enables boys and girls to volunteer in China, Costa Rica, Ghana, Guatemala or South Africa. Program fees are tax deductible for US residents.
