GYV emphasizes international understanding and comprises campers from many ethnic, racial and national backgrounds. Students participate in a dialogue that addresses such issues as prejudice reduction, conflict resolution, nonviolence, and leadership and communication. In addition, the program includes workshops pertaining to global issues, the environment and community service, and cross-cultural arts study. During each session, campers embark on a practical application field trip, and afternoon enrichment activities and sports round out the program.
