This program encourages students from groups lacking strong representation in the sciences to pursue careers in biomedical and behavioral research. Students work with distinguished scientists at hospitals, universities and research centers across the country. Duties may include formal courses, participation in meetings, data collection, data analysis, interviewing, laboratory experiments, manuscript preparation and library research, among others. Applicants under age 18 must apply to sites within commuting distance.
