Ocean Classroom Foundation SEAfaring Camps

Ocean Classroom conducts introductory (ages 13-15) and advanced (ages 15-18) programs on its three schooners that focus on seamanship and maritime studies. Boys and girls fully explore marine ecosystems, including whales, seals, seabirds, fish and invertebrates. While sailing, participants learn such seafaring skills as line and sail handling, compass navigation, knot tying, splices and rope work, and log keeping. During port visits, the SEAfaring Camps explore museums, lighthouses and archaeological sites of maritime significance.
