Participants in these service programs work within a group to assist individuals in developing countries and disadvantaged communities. Service involves such activities as work at hospitals and schools, housing construction and repair, and operation of enrichment programs. Putney selects community service locations—after receiving invitations from host governments—based upon the area's safety, stability and demonstrated need. Programs operate in Ecuador, Tanzania, Costa Rica, Senegal, Nicaragua, Nusa Penida, the Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Argentina, Ghana, Peru, India, Dominica and Hawaii.
