The Ailey School offers a six-week Professional Division Summer Intensive for dancers ages 16-25 and a five-week Junior Division program for those ages 12-15 (only 15-year-olds may attend as boarding students). Students take 12 to 15 technique classes weekly from the school's core curriculum, including daily ballet classes and Horton- or Graham-based modern classes five to six times a week. Additional instruction addresses jazz, tap, hip-hop, Dunham, barre a terre, yoga, body conditioning and two levels of pointe. Guest choreographers conduct repertory workshops. Boarding students live in Fordham University housing. Three years of prior ballet training is a prerequisite.
