This enrichment program enables participants to explore all aspects of writing. Types of writing addressed include essay composition, nature writing, poetry, journal writing, fiction, memoir writing and creative nonfiction. Roundtable seminars, free writing time, one-on-one instruction, group editing, and presentations and class readings by guest writers help pupils further develop their writing skills. Boys and girls may read selections from new work each week during programwide open-reading sessions, and students produce a literary magazine at program's end.
