Emphasizing exploration and creativity, ASRA immerses students in a single subject for two weeks of intensive, hands-on research. Topics vary by year; past subjects have included archaeology, biomedicine, creative writing, earth and space science, earthquakes, engineering design, photography, fisheries, energy and climate change, physiology, marine biology, marine mammals, programming and robotics. Certain remote modules require participants to travel off-campus and stay at camp sites or research facilities.
