Academic Connections' curriculum consists of college-level course work in the physical and social sciences, engineering, and the arts and humanities. UCSD doctoral candidates generally teach the courses, which meet in five-hour blocks every weekday. Small classes (limited to 22 students each) emphasize active learning. An optional SAT test-taking workshop operates two nights per week, and students may meet with campus admissions representatives one evening a week. Offered for a slightly higher cost than the traditional three-week program, a weeklong, strictly residential session in Hawaii focuses on global environmental leadership and sustainability.
