SSTP introduces students to various disciplines of science, medicine and engineering to aid them in choosing career fields. Students spend more than two dozen hours a week participating in active projects with research professors in on-campus laboratories. Lectures, field trips and seminars supplement laboratory participation and class instruction. Topics assigned cover a broad area of scientific study; some students will do field research, some bench research and some computer research. Weekend activities include sports and social activities. Students may earn up to six college credits, and high school credit may be available to Florida students.
