University of Iowa Young Writers' Studio | Summer Programs

University of Iowa Young Writers' Studio

Participants in this college program for high school students focus upon a single course of study for the duration of this two-week program. Options are poetry, fiction and creative writing (a survey course that comprises fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction). Each course includes both a seminar and a workshop; the same instructor teaches both. Seminars provide participants with a broad range of readings, while workshops enable boys and girls to work on their writing with the benefit of constructive criticism from fellow students and the instructor.
