Children and adolescents who wish to improve their acting skills attend sessions at Azusa Pacific University. The Acting Camp enrolls boys and girls ages 8-18 with or without acting experience into a program that features an on-camera commercial workshop, an exploration of acting terms and techniques, on-camera screen study, improvisational games and memory skills training. Campers of the same age with at least a year of acting experience may enroll in the Pre-Professional Program, where they learn extensively about the film and television industries. Boys and girls ages 12-17 who are serious about pursuing a career in film or television—and who can furnish a referral from an acting teacher, director or out-of-state agent—may apply for the Casting Call program; this is an invitation-only session, and a phone interview is required.
