The nurturing environment includes plenty of opportunities for undergraduate research, and the beautiful residential campus has new facilities.
  • University of Maryland — Baltimore County (Baltimore, MD): UMBC had a dynamic president, strong academics (particularly in the sciences), and an excellent chess team.
  • Washington College (Chestertown, MD): This school is strong in sciences, has very socially and athletically oriented students and is also a great place for the aspiring writer. Located in a small historic, waterfront town, The college offers easy accessible to D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, and the Maryland seashore.
