The Bright Futures program consists of three different awards: Florida Academic Scholars (FAS), Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) and Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars (GSV). To qualify an applicant must be a Florida state resident and U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen; complete the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA); receive a standard Florida high school diploma or its equivalent; not have been convicted of a felony; be accepted by and enroll in a degree or certificate program; and be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours per term. In addition, each of the above awards has specific minimum requirements for high school coursework, GPA, ACT/SAT scores, and service hours.
