Our graduate student body brings a wide range of experience and skills to the classroom and labs, and comes from a variety of math, science, and other health-related backgrounds. We welcome students from around the United States and the world, including India, China, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jamaica, and Thailand.
Students in research-based programs work directly with faculty research mentors on projects of mutual interest in well-equipped, modern labs and, because of our small size, are able to get the time and attention needed for in-depth experimentation and modeling. Check out the Graduate Faculty Mentors page at acphs.edu/academics/graduate-programs/research-graduate-faculty.
We offer close to 40 different sites around the country so students in our clinical programs have a wide range of opportunities for their clinical training. Some of our partners include Albany Medical Center, St. Peter’s Health Partners, Duke University Hospital Laboratory, Baystate Medical Center, Yale University Medical Center, and Long Island Jewish Hospital. Students have also gone to sites in Colorado and California.
Many students continue their studies in doctoral programs at universities such as Tufts University, Albany Medical College, University of Iowa, Rutgers University, and the University of Colorado at Denver. Students also find employment at companies like Bristol-Myers Squibb, Regeneron, and Albany Molecular Research Inc.; agencies such as the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Forensics Division of the New York State Police; and hospitals and labs, including Northeast Health, Southeast Georgia Health Systems, Cleveland Clinic, and Bassett Healthcare Network.
Since 1881, Albany Collegeof Pharmacy and Health Sciences has been committed to graduating students who are focused on the health professions and dedicated to advancing the cause of patient care.
Our five M.S. degree programs allow students to seek professional licensure in one of our clinical programs (Cytotechnology and Molecular Cytology or Clinical Laboratory Science) or expand their research potential in one of our thesis-based programs (Pharmaceutical Sciences, Molecular Biosciences, or Health Outcomes Research). They all provide excellent preparation for those students who wish to seek employment in the health care field after graduation, continue on for a Ph.D., or explore other professional medical school opportunities. With our small classes, individualized faculty attention, and rigorous academics, students will have all the necessary tools for success.
