Welcome to Siena!

How do you describe your ideal college? Does it have dynamic student/faculty relationships? Maybe it boasts an active alumni network and offers a strong track record of success. Or perhaps it cultivates an environment where respect, inclusivity and community are as important as ability. You’re describing the education for a lifetime. You’ve found it. Welcome to Siena!

Leading the way
Everyone wins when Siena Saints lead the way. Our students experience a transformative journey that features exceptionally rare student-faculty engagement and life-changing opportunities. Our unique approach is the standard of excellence in educating and developing leaders who will build a more just, peaceful, and humane world. That’s what we believe, and others believe it too.

Academics
The Siena community is a welcoming learning environment that prepares students not only for fulfilling careers, but for a lifetime of making a difference—that's why the Wall Street Journal ranks us in the top 3% of US Colleges and Universities.

With 40 majors and 80+ minors, certificates, and concentrations to choose from, you'll find countless ways to pursue your interests. Pick any discipline you want—from marketing to medicine, engineering to law, accounting to computer science, criminal justice to education. Siena offers 100% faculty-taught classes and the courses and experiences to actively make your personal and professional dreams happen. And because we live and learn in the heart of one of the best markets for job creation, Saints get career, research, service, and entrepreneurial experience now, not later.

Life as a Saint
Not to brag but... Siena has been ranked the Best College in the Capital Region 3 years in a row. See what it means to live like a Saint, and why our students love it.

100+ Clubs (and growing!)
Clubs and organizations from soccer to quidditch to hip-hop. There's no benchwarmers here because there is something for everyone! The club fair during the first week of classes is the perfect way to check them out and start getting involved. Don’t see a club with a focus you’re looking for? Saints are starting new clubs all the time!

Every weekend, Siena Night Life lights up the Student Union with trivia, casino games, live entertainment and more. Our Student Events Board organizes Winter Weekend, SienaFest, Charity Week and open mic nights. From guests like Derek Jeter to lecturers from CNN’s Hero of the Year, and even popular annual events like Hip-Hop Week. Off campus? The buzzing gets louder. Safe to say, you’ll never be bored as a Siena student.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Service
Service isn't something Saints talk about—it's something Saints do. Proudly. It's part of our Franciscan tradition and part of what makes Siena so different. And so awesome. Picture yourself feeding the hungry in Philadelphia, caring for the homeless in Boston or building houses in Jamaica. You can even expect to work on projects in your classes—or as part of an internship or research study—that have a lasting impact on our communities. St. Francis believed leaders should be servants. Saints hold that close to their hearts, and our alumni prove how valuable those servant-leadership qualities are in the workplace, at home and throughout their lives.

Athletics
Between intramurals, fitness clubs and the UHY Center, there’s no shortage of options to exercise your mind and body at Siena. The best part is that while some Saints prefer low-intensity cardio and others play DI basketball, at the end of the day, we all cheer on each other. In the Dog Pound, on the quads or at away games. At Siena, we offer 22 NCAA Division I athletic programs.

An Inside Look

What students are saying about us...

  • “The great thing about the advisors at Siena was that they helped me figure out how to assemble my degree. My coursework in both business and Spanish actually made me eligible for an International Studies in Foreign Language and Business Certificate, so having entered as undecided definitely had its advantages.”

    •
  • “Being undecided at college can sound daunting, but so far, Siena has helped me significantly. There are many resources for exploring students—like gateways classes and academic interest forms—and their faculty and staff make finding a major much easier. Also, since Siena is a liberal arts school, there are more opportunities to explore different areas of study and have them count towards the core classes needed to graduate.”

  • “I absolutely love how at Siena you do not have to choose your major until first semester of junior year. Coming in to Siena, I did not realize how helpful this would be. I can take any business course in any major I want to now, which is great because it allows me to explore each major and see if I enjoy taking those kinds of classes.”
