Open to the possibilities

Openness creates opportunity, which can change the world. That's why we're proud to welcome all kinds of students from all walks of life. Mercy University students are on a personal mission to get the most out of life by getting the most out of their education. We’re committed to ensuring our students graduate with a degree, not debt. Mercy students graduate with less than half the amount of student loans than students at other institutions, which is possible because we have one of the lowest private college tuition rates in New York. The University is dedicated to helping students transform their lives and become the changemakers, trendsetters, and industry leaders of tomorrow.

A mentor from day one
Almost every college has advisors, but we take it further and give each student a personal mentor from the moment they’re accepted. Our mentors are there for every part of your college experience. You’re never alone when it comes to understanding financial aid, choosing the right major, navigating degree requirements, registering for classes, or tracking your academic progress. Mentors empower students to develop leadership skills, plan their futures, and take the actions needed to make their dreams a reality.

“My PACT Mentor, Christina, has been with me the whole way. She checks up on me, makes sure I’m okay, and helps me get things done.” — Alexandrya McKenzie-Laury ’22.

How Mercy helps Mavericks succeed
Active learning is key. All of the University's programs focus on giving students the knowledge, skills, and real-world expertise they need to launch successful careers. Our Career and Professional Development Department works with students to build their résumés and hone their interview skills so they can land the internship or job they’re striving for. Our faculty share decades of professional work experience and create networking opportunities for students to bring them into the professional fold.

On campus, our state-of-the-art facilities also give students access to the equipment and settings they’ll experience in the field. Whether it’s Health Science students in our clinical simulation and learning labs; artists producing and mixing audio in the music production and recording arts studio; burgeoning entrepreneurs swapping stocks in our School of Business trading room or working with real clients in the Business Incubation Center—Mercy graduates leave the University with strong hands-on career experiences.

We've built a community
Across all four campuses, you'll find a vibrant college community and an endless amount of ways for students to enrich their lives. We have over 60 student clubs and activities, and students can branch out and easily start their own organizations. Mercy is also home to 16 honor societies and the award-winning student newspaper The Impact—and this is just the start of all the opportunities you have access to.

“I wanted to go someplace that was thriving and growing. I love it here. I love walking around campus and seeing people I know every time I go out.” — Cassie Rando ’20

Even our mascot is a maverick
When you’re a Maverick, you’re part of a family that studies, learns, grows, and wins together. Our 10 NCAA Division II athletic teams are taking the East Coast Conference (ECC) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) by storm. Join them and compete on our new athletic turf or in the newly renovated Victory Gym. Develop your skills in our 5,000-sq. ft., state-of-the-art fitness center. Become a Maverick and see how it can transform your life!
