The College of Creative Arts at Miami University
Miami University’s College of Creative Arts (CCA) houses five exceptional departments, each with multiple degree programs, as well as interdisciplinary programs in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship, Art Therapy, and Fashion.
Our nationally accredited programs include immersive studio experiences as well as academic and education degrees. The CCA is also home to the Performing Arts Series and the Miami University Art Museum—both bringing world-class performing and visual artists to our campus and local community each year.
The CCA’s #thrivingartist network provides a supportive group of arts alumni in major US cities, including New York City and Los Angeles. Alumni support students with résumé review, job shadowing, and informational interviews. The network provides mentorship for new graduates and collaboration among arts alumni in key metropolitan areas.
Miami’s flexible curriculum allows students to combine a major in the creative arts with majors or minors in academic divisions across campus. For example, students who want to be on the business side of the creative arts can combine their CCA major with a co-major in Entrepreneurship from the Farmer School of Business.
About Miami University
Miami is a medium-sized public university where faculty are hired for their subject-matter expertise as well as their enthusiasm for teaching undergraduate students. With its focus on a liberal arts education, Miami is committed to:
1. Providing a broad-based education through the Global Miami Plan, which allows students to become experts within their field(s) of study while also acquiring skills and competencies such as critical and creative thinking, ethical reasoning, global learning, intercultural knowledge, information literacy, inquiry and analysis, problem solving, teamwork, and oral and written communication.
2. Ensuring students have program choices and the resources of a large research university but the personal attention other institutions reserve for their graduate students.
3. Offering flexible plans of study and encouraging students to combine multiple majors and/or minors with co- and extracurricular activities so that they can explore new interests and acquire the breadth and depth of experience employers seek.
4. Fostering a culture that nurtures creativity, embraces change, and is invigorated by new ideas and challenges.
Students thrive at Miami University because the path to success looks different for everyone, and at Miami, students are encouraged to define and pursue their own, distinctive paths.
