Your University, your dreams
As a land-grant institution, Mississippi State University is dedicated to learning, research, and service. We’re also dedicated to offering an accessible and affordable education that’ll propel you as far as you dare to go. From Forestry and Fashion to Architecture and Meteorology, anything is possible for a Bulldog. Whatever path you choose, you can expect rigorous academic programs, invested professors, and hands-on experience in your field.
Leading research
Mississippi State is one of the nation’s leading research universities, ranked in the top 100 by the National Science Foundation—and consistently in the top 15 for Agricultural Sciences, the top 50 for various Engineering disciplines, and the top 25 for Social Sciences. Even undergraduates have the opportunity to get involved in research.
Hands-on experience
Many programs incorporate hands-on experience both inside and outside the classroom. Study unmanned aircraft systems at the MSU Raspet Flight Research Laboratory, a test site for Homeland Security. Experience the largest university-operated high-voltage lab in North America and the fourth-fastest supercomputer housed at a US academic institution. Serve and learn at the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Clinic. Collaborate with students in Uzbekistan on agricultural research or explore archaeological sites in Europe. Your options are endless.
Affordable
Need help paying for college? We have two main forms of assistance: scholarships and financial aid. Out-of-state students may automatically qualify for Non-Resident Tuition Scholarships and Academic Excellence Scholarships based on high school GPA and ACT/SAT scores. See what you might qualify for with our scholarship calculator at scholarships.msstate.edu. Financial aid is awarded through grants, loans, and work-study positions for those who qualify.
