The University Scholars and Global Scholars programs provide second-year students with the opportunity to deepen their interests and foster interdisciplinary connections through a spring-semester seminar experience and additional faculty mentoring. Students are selected for either program based on their academic performance and leadership potential. The information that you provide on your application will help reviewers to learn about your interests and aspirations. Please review the program descriptions available at University Scholars & Global Scholars | University Honors Program before completing your application. While similar, these programs offer some different opportunities and support for students. A complete application will include student essay responses, an uploaded DPR, and recommendations from two individuals familiar with your achievements. At least one of your recommendations should come from someone who has taught you in a KU course. Please remember to contact your recommenders ahead of submitting your application. Students do not need to be members of the University Honors Program to apply to the Global Scholars or University Scholars programs.
