About Louisville
Louisville is the largest city in Kentucky, and the 27th largest city in the United States. Founded in 1778, it was one of the first cities built west of the Appalachian Mountains, and was a vital port for shipping along the Ohio River to the Gulf of Mexico.

Today, the city is home to over 600,000 people (more than 1.2 million in the metro area) and remains a hub for transportation—at the Port of Louisville, Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, and the intersection of three interstate highways (I-64, I-65, and I-71).
