Live and Learn Within a Christ-Centered Culture

IWU students live and learn within a culture that is committed to disciple making and influencing one another to become more like Jesus in every area of life. IWU is intentional about helping students discover their God-given individuality and life calling, and to grow in kindness, humility, belonging, integrity, and courage—our community values.

About an hour’s drive from the two largest cities in Indiana, IWU offers more than 80 undergraduate and 30+ graduate degrees. The University’s academic programs are nationally known for their curricular innovation, use of hands-on learning experiences and student success rates. For example, our nursing majors have consistently exceeded the NCLEX national pass rate for the past 14 years.

Students run the school's coffee shop, McConn Coffee Co.; conduct, publish and present original research at academic and professional conferences; and travel the globe for academic studies, mission work and performances. Our Wildcat athletic teams have won 188 Crossroads League championships, 25 Crossroads League—sports trophies, 441 NAIA All-Americans and 16‑ national championships.

IWU is known for developing students in character, scholarship and leadership. We can’t wait to have you visit campus to discover more! We welcome you to tour IWU in person to experience the genuine community of our campus with students and faculty. And be sure to check out the new Wildcat 360° Virtual Tour at indwes.edu/visit where you can soar above campus or zoom down to ground level for an up close, high resolution immersive experience.

Location

Indiana Wesleyan University's main campus is located in Marion, Indiana, midway between Indianapolis and Fort Wayne along I-69. Established in 1920 as Marion College, IWU operated as an undergraduate liberal arts institution until 1985. Since then, IWU has transformed into a student-focused regional university. Our main campus is home to over 3,000 students who attend IWU's traditional four-year liberal arts college and residential graduate school.

Jesus Christ is at the heart of Indiana Wesleyan University. In all we do we seek to serve and glorify God. The fundamental value of Indiana Wesleyan University is Christ-likeness—as a community, we daily strive to exemplify the life of Christ in our commitments, our actions, and our relationships.

This Christian commitment has a transforming impact on the IWU educational experience, called forth in the IWU mission statement:

"Indiana Wesleyan University is a Christ-centered academic community committed to changing the world by developing students in character, scholarship, and leadership."

All of IWU's faculty and staff are committed Christians desiring to use their God-given skills, experiences, and passions to help IWU provide a high-quality Christian education to men and women of all ages.

Intentional integration of faith in learning is pervasive at all levels— undergraduate and graduate; for all student communities—residential, commuter, and distance learners; and in all instructional environments—in the classroom and online.
