Our University
Abilene Christian University is a diverse, innovative, Christ-centered community that equips students to engage the world as critical thinkers, creative problem-solvers, and compassionate global citizens. Founded in 1906 and located 180 miles west of Dallas, Texas, ACU is home to over 5,200 students who represent 46 nations as well as 52 states and territories.
Find your calling
With over 79 majors and 164 areas of study, ACU students find their passion and their calling. Our faculty are committed to providing a world-class education and sharpening the skills needed for success after graduation. In fact, 96% of our recent graduates were employed or enrolled in graduate or professional school within six months. Additionally, our graduates are accepted into medical school at a rate twice the national average. We aim to transform our students into the likeness of Jesus and produce leaders who think critically, globally, and missionally through distinctive and innovative programs that deliver a unique, Christ-centered experience that draws students into community. These leaders learn to apply their Christian faith to their field of study, and they engage the world as critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, global citizens, and volunteers.
Student life
Our vibrant and welcoming community offers more than 100 student organizations and opportunities to get involved. From Greek life and student productions to academic clubs and musical ensembles, there are ways for all students to get connected. ACU students are part of a community that values spiritual growth. Students have many opportunities to develop their faith, including daily chapel, community service, and spiritual formation experiences that are incorporated into all majors.
