Saint Louis University attracts hundreds of undergraduate and graduate international students from nearly 100 countries around the world—nearly 10% of SLU’s students come from outside the US Its legacy of innovative research and competitive programs are just a few of the reasons why it’s ranked among the top Jesuit universities in the nation. 

You’ll be supported through every step of your journey to SLU. The University’s Office of International Services (OIS) ensures that all international students and scholars make connections and access the resources necessary for a successful college experience and future. You may also take advantage of INTO SLU, which provides instructions and pathway programs for international students who need additional English-language and academic preparation. Life in St. Louis
St. Louis is a large, diverse city with a multitude of amenities, including nationally-recognized parks, renowned museums, world-class theaters, historical landmarks and professional sports teams. You’ll have opportunities to explore the City’s culture and attractions on your own, with friends and through University-sponsored activities. 

You’ll find the conveniences needed for day-to-day living are on or near campus. You can open a bank account, obtain a driver’s license, enjoy local restaurants, shop for groceries and find housing. 

There are also a growing number of University clubs and activities designed to help international students connect with their peers and celebrate global traditions.

International Student Services: SLU’s Office of International Services (OIS) supports international students, scholars, and employees as well as students who wish to study abroad. OIS promotes international student success and a global perspective for the University community.

International Student Budget: Estimated undergraduate cost of tuition and living expenses for one academic year: $70,000

Financial Aid: International undergraduate applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. Students interested in being considered for need-based financial aid should submit the College Board’s CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE.

Test Score Requirements: For direct entry into an academic program, all international applicants are required to demonstrate English proficiency. Students who don’t meet the minimum English proficiency requirements can apply for a pathway or academic English program through INTO-Saint Louis University.

Application Deadlines and Fees: SLU’s Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy programs have an application deadline of December 1; all other undergraduate applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Undergraduate students can apply at or via the Common Application. There is no application fee for undergraduate applications.
