International Student Services: SLU’s Office of International Services (OIS) supports international students, scholars, and employees as well as students who wish to study abroad. OIS promotes international student success and a global perspective for the University community.
International Student Budget: The estimated amount for tuition and living expenses for one academic year is $61,080 USD for undergraduate students.
Financial Aid: International undergraduate applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships upon submission of ACT, SAT, or Gaokao scores. Interested students should submit the College Board CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE.
Test Score Requirements: International applicants are eligible for consideration for direct admission to the University with an internet-based TOEFL (iBT) score of 80 or an IELTS score of 6.5. Students who do not meet minimum English proficiency requirements can apply for a pathway or academic English program through INTO-Saint Louis University.
Application Deadlines and Fees: SLU’s Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy programs have an application deadline of December 1; all other undergraduate applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Undergraduate students can apply at slu.edu/apply or via the Common Application. There is no application fee for undergraduate applications. For students who may not meet the requirements for direct entry, SLU’s INTO program delivers University-designed Academic English and Pathway programs to support and prepare them for successful academic careers.
Once on campus, internationalstudents have access to our English Language Center, which provides specialized writing support for all SLU students whose native language is not English. The Office of International Services supports international students and those who wishto study abroad in a variety of ways, promoting international student success and a global perspective for the University community.

The University expanded internationally in 1967 by establishing a campus in Madrid, Spain. It was the first US university to be recognized by Madrid’s Ministry of Education as an institution of higher education in the province. SLU-Madrid offers a complete range of undergraduate programs as well as two graduate degrees. The Madrid campus is home to more than 800 students.
