Enrollment
Belhaven University enrolls over 4,500 students, including 1,200 undergraduates on the Jackson campus.

For over 100 years, Belhaven University has continued to flourish among Christian colleges and universities for its enduring commitment to the liberal arts as well as its integration of faith in the classroom. Belhaven is a top choice for students seeking a college degree that will challenge, prepare, and motivate them academically and spiritually from a biblical perspective.

We believe that Christian higher education should encourage students to think critically in a wide array of disciplines and provide an environment that is academically rigorous while being supportive of students and their success. Belhaven’s mission is to prepare students to serve Jesus Christ in their careers, in human relationships, and in the world of ideas. Belhaven offers 70 areas of study across a full spectrum of disciplines as well as a variety of graduate programs. Remarkably, we are one of only 36 colleges and universities in the United States with national accreditation in all four of the arts—Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts. Our nationally respected Arts program goes hand-in-hand with our vision to form Christian artists who impact the world for Christ through excellence. In addition, Belhaven is the only Christian college in America to offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.

We have several distinctive programs...
...Core Curriculum, Omega College, and the Arts programs (Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts)—just to name a few. The core subjects are taught in historical sequence so that students see the worlds of literature, history, art, and philosophy as influencing and shaping each historical time period.

Belhaven offers a Freshman Guarantee Option for eligible incoming freshman students interested in earning their Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Freshman Guarantee students are ensured direct admission into the Nursing program their junior year upon meeting all admission standards. The Nursing school provides a foundation for graduates to live out the University’s motto, “To serve, not to be served,” and challenges students to transform the culture through Christ-inspired nursing practices.
