Our students also complete 100,000 hours of community service each year.

Our 244-acre campus is a nationally recognized arboretum with more than 12,000 evergreen and deciduous trees. We’re also home to a nationally accredited museum with more than 5,000 works of art in its permanent collection and approximately 70 works of art in its outdoor sculpture collection.

Transferring Made Easy

We seek to enroll students from diverse backgrounds and geographic locations with varied interests. At Hofstra, we value the credits you’ve earned at other institutions and maximize the transfer of those credits. To simplify the transfer process, we give our students greater flexibility in fulfilling general education requirements with previously completed coursework. Generally, courses in which you’ve received a grade of at least a C- may be transferred to Hofstra. In most cases, if a course you’ve taken at another institution is comparable to a course offered at Hofstra, you will receive credit.

While we consider transfer candidates on a rolling basis, we encourage you to apply early, especially if you’re interested in on-campus housing and available scholarships. A preliminary credit evaluation is completed after acceptance and prior to registration. We offer comprehensive academic advising prior to course registration as well as throughout your Hofstra experience.
