SUNY Oneonta is a mid-sized four-year public university that offers small classes, loads of activities, opportunities for undergraduate research, student-faculty interaction, and an attractive cost of attendance. Caring is our longest-standing tradition—traced all the way back to the school’s founding in the late 1800s. Today, the University's growing alumni network spans the globe, advancing the values of inclusivity, service, and sustainability that exemplify SUNY Oneonta.
Students choose Oneonta for lots of reasons: our welcoming campus, the “just-right” size of our community, the idyllic setting neighboring the city of Oneonta. And we’re committed outside the classroom to offering a wide range of options for socializing, entertainment, and engagement. It's easy to be happy here!

• A competitive and challenging academic program with courses related to your intended major
• A minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA (Education majors must have a 3.0 or greater)
• A required performance audition for students looking to join the Music program

Transfer students aren't required to live on campus, but those who do must complete two semesters of on-campus living. Some transfers can choose a Transfer Living Community that features mentoring and special programs.
