Christian Brothers University
Discover Your Impact
A Christian Brothers University education isn’t just an open door to success—it’s the start of a lifelong journey toward a better you, a better Memphis, and a better world.
A real-world education
CBU is consistently ranked as one of the best universities in the Southeast and nation. It’s not hard to understand why. CBU delivers an outstanding education that challenges you as a scholar and prepares you for success—in your career and every area of your life. You won’t just learn; you’ll use what you learn firsthand. You’ll work with professionals in your field to experience your area of interest and build invaluable knowledge and skills—along with your résumé.
Today, it’s vitally important for students to develop the skills that allow them to succeed in a variety of jobs and gather as much work experience as possible while in college. A CBU education will enable you to achieve both. CBU’s core curriculum—whether in the arts, business, engineering, or the sciences—seeks to help you develop strong communication skills, think critically, and work in teams, all of which are qualities that employers want to see in today’s graduates. CBU undergraduates further gather extremely valuable work-related knowledge through internships, externships, and co-ops.
Small classes and close faculty relationships will play a major role in your success. You’ll interact daily in class with fellow students and faculty, and you’ll also work closely together outside the classroom, collaborating on research and other projects. A CBU education is rigorous, but it’s also highly supportive and personalized.
Helping you develop the ability to conduct research, analyze data, and interpret results is a top priority of our unique education. Virtually every major program features a senior project during which students engage in research with their professors and give professional presentations at the end of the course. It’s not at all surprising, then, that CBU graduates enjoy impressive acceptance rates at medical, pharmacy, dental, nursing, physical therapy, and law schools. The same applies to graduate programs ranging from the liberal arts to engineering to the sciences.
A full college experience
The University doesn’t just offer you a great education—it’s also a lot of fun! CBU’s diverse student population creates an open, accepting community where everyone feels welcome. It’s an active campus, and it’s easy to fit in. You can participate in more than 40 student clubs, Greek life, NCAA Division II athletics, intramurals, concerts, movie nights, dances, service projects, and more—plus all that Memphis has to offer: Beale Street, Graceland, The Memphis Grizzlies, the mighty Mississippi River, Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum, and Sun Studio. A blend of big city and Southern culture, Memphis offers major fun and entertainment, from legendary live music and world-famous barbecue to major city offerings and an unmatched outdoor lifestyle.
