The McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte prepares students to become innovative and valued leaders who offer new perspectives and solutions in an ever-changing business environment. A focus on leadership
Leadership is the cornerstone of the McColl School experience. It’s even in our motto: "Discover the leader within." Our proximity to Uptown Charlotte and Queens’ long-rooted connections to the business community provide the opportunity to learn directly from a variety of business leaders.

In our undergraduate program, all students have the opportunity to participate in our Leadership Passport Program, where they build key skills and abilities as future leaders. In our graduate programs, the Leadership Initiatives department oversees the curriculum for leadership development and provides cocurricular activities to enhance the personal and professional growth of all students.

The Executive Leadership Institute is designed to deliver relevant, timely, and practical professional development opportunities geared toward today’s professionals, including the Education Leadership Program (ELP), TWIST (Women’s Leadership Conference), Certified Financial Planning certification, and other customized programs.

The Entrepreneurial Leadership Circle (ELC) supports entrepreneurial education at the McColl School and fosters entrepreneurial spirit throughout the Carolinas. Through scholarship support, mentoring, coaching, and other enrichment opportunities like the Queens Pitch Competition, the ELC encourages entrepreneurial ventures of all sizes in an effort to stimulate economic growth.

One of the ways we encourage students to make the most of our central location is by actively engaging in service opportunities. This helps support everything from elementary schools to the health care industry to secure housing and more.

Because wherever there are gaps in our community’s needs, Royals rise to fill them. And it’s not just our community that benefits. This form of experiential learning helps students develop deeper compassion, diverse experiences, and new perspectives that last a lifetime.

Queens is home to athletes of all levels, including intramural, club, Olympians, Paralympians, and D-I athletes (part of the ASUN Division I Conference). Our student-athletes have won a lot of national championships—and we’re just getting started.
