International Profile

International students bring vibrancy to the Holy Cross community.

From academics and athletics to opportunities for spiritual development, the Holy Cross undergraduate experience is among the best in the nation—preparing students for fulfilling leadership roles in every aspect of life. It takes courage to choose hope in this world. To remain uplifted, eyes forward, driven toward the ideal of a brighter tomorrow—and our place in it.

At Holy Cross, we overcome. We challenge the status quo. We approach the world with intention and a dedication to serve. We’re voracious learners. Steadfast activists. Passionate seekers of a better way.  And if there isn’t one? We’ll create it. By leaning into creativity, embracing flexibility and believing wholeheartedly.  With hope, the whole way through.

Experience more than your college years—start your journey to self-discovery
Through volunteer work, lively academic discourse, and a thriving social scene, you'll be challenged and supported by lifelong friends, learning and growing side by side.

Life on campus
Enjoy a meal with friends at one of the healthiest dining halls in the country according to Bon Appétit magazine. Join SPUD, our largest student organization of more than 30 diverse community service partnerships. Catch one of the regular a cappella performances at the campus coffee shop. However you spend your time at Holy Cross, you’ll find friends and fulfillment.

Explore freely
Our academic programs are both rigorous and varied. Research opportunities are plentiful and available to students both during the academic year and the summer. At the intersection of  liberal arts and our Jesuit tradition, you’ll have every opportunity to explore your interests and dive deep in your chosen path.

Cheer and compete
Looking to compete in sports at a high level? With 27 NCAA Division I athletic teams, it’s no wonder our campus is filled with Crusader spirit. And if you’re a casual athlete, you can join a club or intramural team. If you’re a fan, there’s always something to cheer for.

Do good
Life at Holy Cross means opportunities; opportunities to participate in dialogues, identify and pursue your passions, and engage in meaningful community service. Guided by our commitment to be "people for and with others,” we’re determined to leave an impact on those around us.

Location

Located in Massachusetts, Worcester is the third-largest city in New England. Its central location offers convenient access to all major New England attractions, including the big-city excitement of Boston less than an hour away. The climate varies with each season; during the fall, students enjoy the colorful foliage. Winter brings colder weather with an average snowfall of about 50 inches per year. Spring delivers warmer temperatures, which is great for student activities such as BBQ, studying out on the lawn, and playing Frisbee on the quad.

Why Holy Cross?

Students from all around the world call the Hill home. As an international student at Holy Cross, you’ll be recognized for the unique experiences and perspectives you bring to the classroom and the community. You’ll be a member of a small, but dynamic population, and you’ll stand out from your peers and be an ambassador of your home country to a College that embraces diversity and community. Incoming students for the fall 2023 semester come from Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Italy, Vietnam, Japan, Nicaragua, Sweden, the Bahamas, and Germany.

We invite you to connect directly with our international admission counselor, Chris Segur (csegur@holycross.edu), to learn more about application requirements and the Holy Cross experience as an international student.
