Established in 1853 by the Sisters of Mercy, Mount Aloysius College is a liberal arts and science–based college in Cresson, Pennsylvania. Mount Aloysius offers both undergraduate and graduate education, and our alumni serve in leadership positions all over the globe. The College is open to students of all faiths and backgrounds.

Mount Aloysius is committed to providing small class sizes, and students benefit from accessible faculty and staff who offer personal support. Whether preparing students for careers or graduate school, MAC recognizes the importance of a broad and liberal education. In addition to receiving solid preparation for their chosen careers, all students receive a foundation in the arts, sciences, and humanities through an outstanding core curriculum.

The College is nestled in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains, and there are plenty of outdoor recreational activities available just a short drive away. Students can participate in more than 100 clubs and organizations as well as on our NCAA Division III athletic teams.

Mount Aloysius College participates in all federal and state financial aid programs, and 98% of students receive some form of aid, which is offered based on need and/or merit. Many of our students are first-generation college students.

Why Mount Aloysius?

Students at Mount Aloysius College thrive with small class sizes and individualized attention from skilled, experienced professors. Most classes at MAC average around 14 students, allowing professors to provide each student with the attention they need to succeed. There are professional and peer tutors available for students as needed, and professors are available in person and digitally to help with questions and concerns. The vast majority of Mount Aloysius students receive some sort of financial aid.
