Mount Aloysius College, established in 1853, is one of 16 colleges and universities operating under the auspices of the Sisters of Mercy. The College is located in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania—only 90 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh and 60 minutes from State College. With its distinguished history in the field of nursing and health sciences education, Mount Aloysius is home to the Commonwealth’s most robust and leading Medical Imaging program. We have a premier Nursing program that is coupled with the latest simulation technology for our Nursing students (iStan™ was featured on the hit television show Grey’s Anatomy). Our Surgical Technology program is ranked in the top 10 nationwide, and our Nursing students continually surpass the national average on the NCLEX exams. Biology graduates are enrolling into medical school, and the Medical Imaging/Ultrasonography program students are being trained on the latest technology used in hospitals across the country.
