School Facts
McNeese State University is a public, comprehensive university. Founded as a two-year division of Louisiana State University in 1939, it became a four-year college in 1950. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Business, Education, Engineering and Computer Science, Liberal Arts, Nursing and Health Professions, and Science and Agriculture, and the Division of General and Basic Studies, and the Dore School of Graduate Studies. Its 98-acre campus is located in Lake Charles, 200 miles west of New Orleans.
