Northwest Florida State College, founded in 1964, is a comprehensive public state college with seven locations throughout the two county district of the panhandle of Florida. In addition to the 264-acre campus in Niceville, Northwest Florida State College operates a joint campus with the University of West Florida in Fort Walton Beach, the Chautauqua Center in DeFuniak Springs, the Robert L. Sikes Center in Crestview, the South Walton Center in Santa Rosa Beach, and full-time centers at Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field.
