“My fondest memories at VSU are from Greek life. Phi Mu gave me a sense of family and a resource for community involvement. The opportunities granted to me through my sorority Phi Mu and the Biology Department laid the foundation for a career in medicine, grounded in leadership. ”
“My passion for painting truly blossomed at Valdosta State University. One professor, Harry Ally, had a profound impact on me as an artist—always challenging me, encouraging me to dig deeper, and helping me grow in ways I’ll forever be grateful for.”
“VSU truly prepared me for my career by allowing me to work in a hospital setting and lead a student organization, all while completing my education. I was able to directly apply my coursework to both my job and student leadership responsibilities. I originally came to VSU as a member of the basketball team, but eventually shifted my focus fully to academics. The discipline and drive I brought to basketball, I later channeled into my healthcare administration career.”
“My years at VSU shaped not just my academic trajectory but my entire worldview, as Dr. Baun, Dr. Winder, Dr. Nikolav, Dr. Bamfo, Mrs. Holley, and others opened my eyes to the complexities of international affairs while guiding me toward ambitious graduate school programs and career paths. The investment they made in tailoring my summer internship experience and pushing me to reach higher exemplified the close-knit, supportive environment that makes VSU so special. My continued engagement with VSU through receiving the Distinguished Alumni award, service on the VSU Alumni Board, founding the Washington, D.C. alumni club, mentoring students, and giving to the VSU Foundation reflects how those formative experiences at my hometown university instilled in me a lifelong commitment to giving back to the community that nurtured my growth.”
"I cannot say enough about the faculty in the MBA program at VSU. They are incredibly knowledgeable, and the real-world experience I received is invaluable. I truly feel ready for the next steps in my business career."
“During my freshman year, I was fortunate to find myself surrounded by an incredible group of teammates and friends in Hopper Hall, our dormitory. Living alongside my team members felt like being part of an extended family. From the outset, we transitioned from strangers to family, sharing unforgettable moments that bonded us for life. ”
“Valdosta State University helped me find my why. During my time there, I changed majors—a decision that could have felt overwhelming, but at VSU, it felt like a turning point. The education program not only guided me toward my passion but also equipped me with the tools, confidence, and real-world experience to become the educator I am today. ”
