Many students need to work part-time as a full-time student and do it very successfully. If you have the choice about whether to work, you may want to try a semester at college first and see what the workload is like. This will give you a better opportunity to assess the real-time demands of this new environment and figure out what might work for you in terms of a part-time job. There are often jobs on campus that are quite flexible around your class and exam schedules. Many departments hire at various times of the year (campus gyms/pools, residence halls, cafeterias, libraries, campus tour offices, etc.), and you can get help with figuring out where to look for jobs (on campus and off) at your campus career center
