Real-world facilities
CWU makes sure students have access to the same tools they’ll use on the job. The Engineering Technologies, Safety, and Construction (ETSC) department features unique facilities, such as the Fluke Lab, a large industrial space with a 5-ton bridge crane used for training and industry events. From the Metallurgy Lab for materials testing to the Robotics and Automation courses where you work with industrial robots and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), the facilities give you a clear advantage by mirroring a professional work environment.

Our main campus in Ellensburg, Washington, is the thriving center of our University family with residential housing, sprawling grounds, and extensive academic and campus life activities. CWU also comprises eight University Centers and Sites across the state, providing degree and certification options closer to home for students who may not be able to attend the traditional campus. 

The Science Talent Expansion Program (STEP)

Interested in a STEM career but could use extra support? The Science Talent Expansion Program (STEP) at Central Washington University is specifically designed to boost success for students in science, technology, engineering, and math fields. STEP offers personalized academic and social support, dedicated mentorship from faculty, and opportunities to collaborate on research projects. Eligible freshman students may also receive partial tuition financial aid. It's a great program for building your foundation and ensuring a smooth path to your STEM degree.
