College Planning Calendar: June 2023

School’s out for the summer (almost)! Get ready for three months of sun and just a little college prep with our June College Planning Calendar.

Ah, summer! Time for lots of sunshine, the beach, cookouts, fun trips, and so much more. Students and counselors have worked hard all year long, and now it’s time for a well-earned break. But there’s still plenty to be excited about this month—both related and not related to college prep. Check out what’s coming up in the month of June and get ready for some fun in the sun!

General college prep and planning

  • All students: This month, students should be taking a break because they’ve earned it! Before we know it, first-years will be packing for college, high school seniors will be starting their application process, and juniors will be preparing for an important year ahead. But for now, the school year is done, and everyone deserves some rest. If your students are really looking to stay productive, they can build up their college fund using our Scholarship Search tool or sign up for a free webinar from our friends at Moon Prep, College Essay Guy, and more—read on for more info!
  • October SAT test-takers: The College Board recommends any student planning on taking the SAT in October to start studying this month. They can find fun ways to study in our Test Prep section!

I never would have found the college I plan on attending without CollegeXpress! I've always been a person of ambition and have been dreaming of studying and working on my passion for law, legal studies, and political science. Washington College is where I plan on pursuing my career. My journey with my education has been difficult, and oftentimes, I was told I would never amount to much, but now I'm dual enrolled at Caroll Community College and have had experience in the fields I am dedicated to. Without the help of CollegeXpress (even in its early days), I would never have found Washington College and the information I need to apply and become a part of their community.

I had absolutely no idea where I wanted to go to school; I was considering colleges in almost every state. CollegeXpress was an amazing resource and helped me compare all of my top schools. Without the help of CollegeXpress, I probably wouldn't have made such an informed and confident decision.

As I transition to furthering my education, I can say with certainty that it simply wouldn’t be possible without the help of generous organizations such as CollegeXpress. Those who initially founded CX had no idea their platform would give a plethora of information to a first-generation homeless kid native to the ghettos of over half a dozen states. Everyone at CX and Carnegie Dartlet gave me a chance at a future when the statistics said I had none. And for that, I thank them.

I found CollegeXpress when you partnered with Bold.org for a scholarship. I found your website, put my information in, and got connected. I only wanted to stay in North Carolina [for college] and not move far from home, but you all opened a door up for me. I started researching colleges you suggested for me. On your social media platforms, you also give really good test-taking tips that I used and suggested others to do the same. It helped me a lot on my exams, so thank you.

CollegeXpress is a great application that helped me search for many different scholarships, and it narrows the scholarships depending on how you set your profile. Not only that, but it helps you choose different colleges to apply to by finding matches through the description of your profile. It was the best experience for me.
